China Photo Gallery of China Markets

A visit to the China markets can be quite a fascinating experience, for the tourist, with market stalls selling a wide variety of goods. For the local Chinese inhabitants the China markets are their main source of fresh vegetables. We paid a daily visit to the local China markets during our stay at the Hadamen Hotel, Beijing for fresh fruit, there in abundance. On one visit an elderly Chinese woman made her selection of fresh vegetables from a China markets stall, closely inspecting them for signs of damage!
It was the same in the China markets in Jinghong; fresh fruit and vegetables were expected to be fresh and undamaged. China markets can sometimes be in large halls, or in streets, such as the Ancient Culture Street in Tianjin, or in customary areas such as those in Jinghong.
Some of the China Market stalls in Tianjin sold Chinese teapots and Chinese vases. Others sold models of buffalo and rocks used in miniature Chinese landscapes. At one stall a Chinese artist would use his skills in calligraphy to paint your name on a wall scroll.
